Sara Farthing's pledgepage- I am walking for my sisters!

This Summer I have chosen to take part in an event not like any of its kind. It is an event that I am doing not for myself, but for my mother, my sisters, my aunts, my grandmothers, my co-workers, my friends, and all the women I have ever worked with. One of every nine of these women I have named will be diagnosed with breast cancer. This August I am fighting back! 3000 courageous walkers and I will embark on a 60mile 3-day journey from Enumclaw to Seattle to fight breast cancer!

I've agreed to raise the required $1900, but have set my own personal goal of $4000. I have chosen the $4000 mark to sybolize $1000 for each one of my sisters (Jessica, Rachael, Rebecca, & Keri). The odds are far to great that one of us will be effected by breast cancer and I want to do all I can to see that the money I raise will go toward programs for early detection.

It isn't easy for me to ask you for money, but I would never ask you to do something that I wouldn't do myself. For that reason I have started my fundraising with a personal pledge of $250. I need to raise my goal of $4000 by June 12th to be able to walk in August. Please make a tax-deductible pledge to help me reach this goal. The money will go towards non-profit breast health programs, state of the art medical research and to provide support for medically under serviced women in the United States.

Last year the Seattle walk raised $4.6 million. Wow! What an amazing display of hope, compassion, and kindness.

I appreciate all the love and support you all have to offer.

God Bless.
